Faro, Beja and Madeira under yellow warning for rain and possible storms

The districts of Faro and Beja and the Madeira archipelago are under a yellow warning this Saturday due to the forecast of showers, occasionally intense, that could be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, the IPMA reported.

This notice issued by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) is in force throughout the morning of this Saturday, until 1 p.m.

The IPMA forecasts for this Saturday very cloudy skies and showers on the continent, sometimes intense and accompanied by storms in the center and south, decreasing in intensity and frequency starting in the afternoon.

Strong winds are sometimes expected in high areas and an increase in maximum temperatures.

Minimum temperatures will range between 08 degrees Celsius (in Bragança) and 15 (in Faro, Porto and Aveiro) and maximum temperatures between 13 (in Guarda) and 23 (in Aveiro and Setúbal).

In the Madeira archipelago, temperatures are expected to range between 6 and 11 degrees.

The yellow warning, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued whenever a risk situation occurs for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
