The study shows the best day to fly and worst day of the week

Deciding whether it’s a cheaper day or a quieter time to fly depends on several factors, including the time of year, airline, destination, and airport where you’re flying.

But experts have discovered that booking flights or traveling on certain days can play a role in increasing your chances of getting an affordable ticket or having a smoother flying experience.

The study conducted by HappyOrNot examined more than 4.5 million customer feedback points located at airports in 30 countries.

The data found that the worst day of the week to travel is Sunday, when people are less happy.

The study also found that only 81% of customer reviews were positive.

Conversely, Wednesday is the best day of the week to travel, as happiness among travelers is 84.6% higher.

HappyOrNot CEO Micah Makitalu said: “With the expected rise of summer vacation travel, we wanted to review the airport travel experience, which can range from a smooth and enjoyable start to a vacation. in a stressful and unpleasant few hours. ”

“By publishing these findings, we hope to provide travelers with better information on when to travel and when to avoid, and provide airport operators with insights into passenger experience data to find out. when the airports will be crowded again. ”

The study also found that midnight travelers were less satisfied, with only 77.3% of positive reviews. The worst time was eight in the morning with 86.6%.

So if you want to be the worst time traveler, it’s best to book your first flight of the day in the middle of the week.

And avoid the last flight on Sunday because you will be the saddest.

The flight attendants also explained why you need to travel earlier, which means your flight is more likely to be delayed.

“Statistically, it flies earlier, with fewer delays and fewer cancellations. When you fly later in the day, you are more likely to delay or cancel your flight, ”ex-pilot Kathleen Bang told Forbes.

A flight attendant also said that flying earlier means not only better crews, but cleaner planes as well.
