Friday’s game between the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics received dire ratings on ABC with less than 8 million viewers.
The Warriors’ 107-97 Celtics win garnered an average of 7.95 million viewers, according to preliminary data released by TVSeriesFinale.com.
While Game 4 was still the top-rated show on Friday, it fell in ratings compared to previous Game 4 games.

For example, in 2018 Warriors-Cavaliers NBA Finals Game 4 received 9.3 ratings and 16.2 million viewers on ABC. However, the game in 2018 resulted in a 13% drop in ratings compared to 2017 (10.7 vs 19.1 million). This is also lower than 2016 (9.8, 16.6 million). But they’re all higher this year.

However, this year’s ranking is slightly up from Game 4 in the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
Game 4 garnered 4.4 (7.54 million viewers) in 2020 and 5.3 (10.25 million viewers) in 2021.
