MSNBC host “Morning Joe” Joe Scarborough on Thursday advertised a world-class House Election Committee session on the January 6 riots in the US Capitol.
Scarborough has signed with Caitlin Flanigan of The Atlantic. constant He attended the Watergate hearings, as did his family. The MSNBC presenter added that he didn’t think Americans would be interested in the hearings, but said “the numbers are staggering”.
“[W]We’ve talked about things that are of great importance to the health of this democracy, of great importance to the stability of the United States Constitution, but sometimes it seems like most Americans are shut down, they just don’t care. the same issue, understandably, focuses on the important things in their lives… but the Americans stopped there,” Scarborough said.
“After the first day of the hearings, [Falanigan] “You know, in the end, there are trials that are less convincing than the trials my family watched while watching the trials in Watergate,” he said. “You know, one after another, promising and ineffective, here are some compelling trials that really matter. And… I have to say, you know, I wasn’t expecting that. I thought they were going to act. I thought we would be shocked, stunned, and deeply saddened, because when people try to overthrow the government, we should be shocked, amazed, and deeply saddened, but Americans will yawn together, get on with the summer, kick their kids out of school, ignore it. The numbers are astonishing.”
