An Indian man in Bristol, England, who calls himself “Trigger”, is being paid £75 for treating people like “hugs”.
Trigger hugs people for an hour to help them feel safe and calm, and the Indian man explains that what he offers is more than a hug because it’s about “giving attention, love, and goodwill to a person by touch.”
“I built a business based on my passion for making human connections, a lot of people struggle to do this, and that’s where I come in,” said Trigger.
“It’s more than just hugging a stranger. Some people find it a little awkward at first, but that’s totally normal and they get comfortable quickly.”
Trigger began researching the science behind human connections a decade ago and turned it into a business in May 2022, describing hug therapy as: “It’s a non-sexual intimacy G, a platonic G, depending in what one wants, we know G and it is true.” Check the directions to make sure we’re on track, then we tailor the session to what the person wants.”
“People have fears or prejudices, but when I hug someone, I do my best to help them find a place where they feel comfortable, it’s about talking and building trust,” said by Trigger.
