He noted: Saudi Arabia has assured US President Joe Biden that actions will be taken against those who committed the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and such mistakes occur in different countries.

According to Ibn Farhan, the Saudi minister said: “We dealt with an institution as a government and questioned Khashoggi’s killers, and this happened in America.”

Regarding the increase in oil production, Ibn Farhan stated that 13 million barrels of oil per day is the maximum production capacity that the kingdom will achieve, and noted that OPEC+ will continue to evaluate the market situation and do what is necessary. “We are always talking to Washington about this issue.”

Stating that oil production was not discussed at the security and development meeting in Jeddah, he emphasized: OPEC+ has an existing system to track the markets and ensure the supply of the energy they need.

He also stated that “there is no such thing as Arab NATO, and I do not know where this name came from, and the issue was not raised at the summit”, and emphasized that there is no discussion about defense cooperation between the countries of the Persian Gulf cooperation. Soviet countries and Israel”.

He added that Saudi Arabia held a Saudi-US bilateral summit within two days, which included a meeting of talks between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and US President Joe Biden, which focused on the “strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the United States”. A partnership that lasted 80 years and was based on common interests and mutual respect between the two countries.

He noted: In this meeting, a large number of strategic issues between the two countries were discussed in order to create new areas of cooperation between the two countries, and today (Saturday) we held the Jeddah Security and Development Summit, where world leaders gathered. . The countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, Jordan, Egypt and Iraq with the President of the United States and included a number of outputs that we hope will have a significant positive impact on establishing security and supporting development in the region, as stated in the final statement. “

Ibn Farhan added that the leaders discussed various issues in this meeting. Most importantly, “regional security, global food security, economic integration between the countries of the region, electrical connection between Iraq and the countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, as well as electrical connection between the Kingdom, Jordan and Egypt, as well as with regard to navigation security in addition to the challenges A world related to the climate and also the economic return due to the effects of the Corona epidemic.

And on Saturday, Saudi Arabia announced the end of the Jeddah Summit for Security and Development, which was attended by US President Joe Biden and the leaders of Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Iraq and Bahrain.
