Snowboards. Ice Cream Veteran Guided Tour

It all started in 1950 when Alda Freiria left Cascais for the city of Porto after getting divorced. She hand in hand brought a small son and in his memory some knowledge in the elaboration of ice cream, this at a time when Europe was coming out of the Second World War, the essential goods were scarce and the consumption of ice cream was only reserved for the wealthy

Enterprising and daring, Alda began by opening her own business on Rua Carlos Malheiro Dias, but soon after moved to Rua da Alegria, selling boxes of ice cream out of a green garage door window. “In winter, when ice cream sales dropped substantially, he explored the inn above the garage, where he lived with his son,” Telma Reis, current operational manager of Neveiros, told the Observer, adding that the brand name, registered in 1951 , is associated with people who collected snow on the streets.
