It is at Doca da Marinha that seafood and fish from Portuguese waters will be unloaded from October 3 to 6 to set the tone for Lisbon’s latest festival. It’s called Heróis do Mar and it turns them into protagonists, with banquets and classes and live cooking, led by 20 chefs. The national team includes José Avillez, João Oliveira and Marlene Vieira, while the international includes Quique Dacosta, Rafael Costa e Silva and Moreno Cedroni.
In its debut, the first edition of Heróis do Mar brings together 10 restaurants from Greater Lisbon to give even more flavor to the event, such as As Esquinas, Epur, Maré, Kanasawa, Pica Pau and Plano, and presents a program that, throughout For four days it promotes around 50 actions, including classes and live cooking, gatherings, tastings with Lisbon Wines, a market of gourmet and traditional products and concerts by GNR, Matias Damásio, Malu Magalhães and Lura.
The festival also includes banquets. Special dinners and lunches prepared by chef duos are scheduled every day: on the 3rd, André Pequena Cordeiro (Essencial, Lisbon) and Moreno Cedroni (La Madonnina del Pescatore, Marzocca) meet for dinner at 7 p.m.; on the 4th, João Oliveira (Vista, Portimão) and Rafael Costa e Silva (Lasai, Rio de Janeiro) at 7:00 p.m.; on the 5th, Marlene Veiria (Marlene, Lisbon) and Matheus Vieira Alves (Brazil) at 1:00 p.m. José Avillez (Belcanto, Lisbon) and Quique Dacosta (Quique Dacosta, Dénia) starting at 6:15 p.m.; and on the 6th Justa Nobre (O Nobre, Lisbon) and Vítor Adão (Plano, Lisbon) for lunch at 1:00 p.m.
The daily entrance to Heróis do Mar costs five euros and the banquets cost 150 euros, except for the duo Avillez and Quique Dacosta, for 250 euros. The complete schedule and tickets can be found on the official event page.
