The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the international community to “take measures to cut off the channels for supplying funds and weapons to terrorists”, emphasizing that “it is very important to unite the efforts of states in the fight against illicit trafficking in firearms in order to prevent them from falling into the hands of terrorists and organized crime networks.”

She noted at the 31st session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Vienna that “problems in the field of extradition and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters represent serious obstacles to international cooperation”, noting that “regrettably, a number of states, with political arguments, such cooperation undoubtedly serves an international crime.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that “the problem of using information and communication technologies for criminal purposes is a global problem. The annual damage from it by 2025 could amount to 9 trillion dollars.
