The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources in the Jordanian government, Saleh Al-Harabsheh, has launched an oil exploration project in the Sirhan well in the southeast of the Kingdom.
In this context, he said in a statement after reviewing the progress of preparations for the start of drilling operations in the well, which will be located at a depth of 1400 to 1750 meters, that “the location of the well was determined after an extensive study of the area based on 3D seismic information that was analyzed to determine the areas of glaciers that the region was exposed to millions of years ago, which was prepared by the Ministry and the National Oil Company in cooperation with international oil and gas consulting companies.
Kharabshe indicated that the project is being implemented at the exploration stage by national personnel in cooperation between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the National Oil Company, stressing that “the project is being implemented within the framework of the ministry’s efforts in the field of natural resources exploration.” resources, oil and gas to achieve the ministry’s vision of supply security. He stressed the importance of the project in providing jobs for the local population and providing drinking water to the region.
