A Conservative MP has reportedly been arrested in the House of Commons on suspicion of rape and sexual harassment in connection with the recent scandal involving the ruling Conservative Party.
according to the report Day An unnamed Conservative, reported to be a current Member of Parliament, has been arrested by the newspaper’s police.
Without revealing the politician’s identity, a Scotland Yard spokesperson told the country’s popular tabloid newspaper: “A man has been arrested in a public office on suspicion of harassment, sexual assault, rape, breach of trust and abuse of power.”
The newspaper reported that The Met conducted a two-year investigation after learning of the allegations in 2020. The alleged sexual offenses are said to have been committed in London between 2002 and 2009.
A spokesperson for Knut’s office confirmed that the detainee was actually a serving MP, saying: “Chief Whip requested that the MP in question not visit the capitol while the investigation was conducted.
“We will not comment further until the investigation is complete.”

The accusations against an unnamed Conservative MP come after months of scandals that have plagued Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party.
For example, last month, Conservative MP Imran Ahmad Khan was found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenager at a party in 2008.
Crispin Blunt, boss of the conservative LGBTQ+ group, rushed to defend his colleague after the court ruling, saying Khan’s conviction for sexually assaulting a child was based on “lazy tropes” that led to “failure of justice”. Blunt later retracted the controversy caused by his statements.
