An Afghan migrant working as a security guard at a shelter in Germany is accused of sexually abusing two Ukrainian refugee children, aged six and seven.
Allegedly, the violence occurred in a shelter in the town of Mösstetten in Baden-Württemberg, where the 24-year-old Afghan was working as a contract security guard.
Two suspected six- and seven-year-old girls reported allegations of sexual abuse, including inappropriate sexual contact and harassment, to their mothers, who said they held the Afghan responsible for home security. He was arrested on Tuesday and presented to a local judge, SWR reported.
Refugees fleeing the conflict in Ukraine have been living in the refugee center in Mösstetten since March.

Tübingen Regional President Klaus Tappeser commented on the allegation of sexual abuse, stating that the accused Afghan was dismissed and no longer has access to a shelter.
He added that psychological support will be provided to mothers and their children.
Last weekend in Austria, a 19-year-old Syrian refugee was also accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old Ukrainian refugee in the town of Weyer. Local police arrested the Syrian, but he was later released and transferred to another shelter.
Austria’s populist Freedom Party (FPÖ) opposed allowing an immigrant to be released, calling it a scandal.
Since the beginning of the Russian occupation of Ukraine and the departure of millions of Ukrainian refugees to Europe, there have been other reports of sexual abuse of Ukrainian women.
In March, an 18-year-old Ukrainian woman was reported to have been raped by men from Iraq and Nigeria at a migrant accommodation center in the city of Dusseldorf. It was reported that the incident occurred on the ship used as a shelter.
They also hold Ukrainian passports, although the two people involved are said to be Nigerian and Iraqi.
