The Egyptian Ministry of Health said it has tightened its procedures at all land, sea and air ports, especially for those arriving from Central and West African countries where the “monkey pox” epidemic is spreading.
The ministry confirmed that a full screening of all Africans returning from abroad is being carried out, noting that all airports, ports and land ports have increased alert levels and provided necessary vaccinations before traveling to Africa, for travelers who frequently visit These countries.
And about the measures that can be taken to prevent infection in countries where the epidemic is spreading, she stressed that contact with animals that can be carriers of the disease, whether dead or sick, should be avoided, without touching any tools that touch the sick or dead animals.
The ministry said any suspected cases of the disease will be isolated to prevent infection, emphasizing the need to wash hands with soap and water, use personal condoms, and enforce quarantine rules and procedures for infected animals.
