A French woman who completed her five-month internship at a conservative newspaper in France said she was not hired for a job at the Paris Opera because of her background on the right.
A woman named Adelaide after her internship Walers Current He received a job offer from the Paris National Opera Association (AROP), who interviewed him last week.
in a review article for Walers CurrentHe said that the interview experience began normally until the interviewer asked him about his background in the newspaper and about the articles he had written for other French conservative media and described them as “far right”.
“I don’t want my past to get in the way of the interview,” I explained. [the manager] I have no problem working with people who have studied for five years at the Sorbonne and interact with students on the left, supporting ideas that are against me,” wrote Adelaide, explaining that she is impartial in her work.
However, he said the interviewer had told him that the other staff members were of “immigrant background” and that he “could not promote the diversity of the Paris Opera line” and therefore the interview was a waste of time for both of them.

However, the practice of recruiting in different institutions is not new. For example, last December, the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom proposed the Woke points system, taking into account the qualifications of prospective scholars who want to work at the university.
The Oxford Task Force on Racial Equality still requires candidates to demonstrate their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) as part of the recruitment process.
