The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation strongly condemned “extremist settlers who stormed the courtyard of the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli forces.”

In a statement, he reaffirmed his firm position on “the need to ensure the full protection of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, to stop serious and provocative violations in it, as well as the need to respect the role of brotherly Jordan in caring for shrines and gifts in accordance with international law and the existing historical situation, and also not to prejudice the powers of the Jerusalem endowment fund” and the affairs of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The ministry called on the Israeli authorities to “de-escalate and end the state of tension and congestion,” stressing “the importance of exercising maximum restraint to avoid drifting to new levels of instability.” She emphasized “the importance of supporting all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East, as well as ending illegal practices that threaten the achievement of a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state for 1967 bordering East Jerusalem as the capital.”
