Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin considered that “this week it is planned to adopt federal laws on non-compliance with decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.”

And in a statement on social networks, he indicated that “the deputies of the State Duma proposed a number of amendments for the second reading, since the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights adopted after March 15 will not be implemented and compensation will be paid in accordance with the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, which entered into force until March 15, accounts in Russian banks will be exclusively in rubles, and the decisions of the courts of the Russian Federation will take precedence over the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.

Volodin pointed out that “the European Court of Human Rights has become a political tool directed against our country in the hands of Western politicians, some of its decisions directly contradict the Constitution of the Russian Federation, our values and traditions.”
