Monthly salary without work in this country

As Morocco seeks administrative reform, the transition from paper to digital, and the restructuring of public institutions and municipalities, the country continues to suffer from the spread of the phenomenon of “ghost workers” receiving wages without work and monthly effort.

According to government officials, the phenomenon of “ghost workers” contributes to the waste of the government’s general budget, as the annual damage amounts to more than 10 billion dirhams (about $ 1 billion).

In the absence of an exact figure, Moroccan press reports indicate that there are about 100,000 ghost employees in government-owned government departments.

Asma Aghalo, the mayor of Robat (the mayor of Robat), revealed that the city council alone has more than 2,000 ghost employees who have received their monthly salaries for years without any work or supervision.

“Of the 3,400 employees, only 1,000 are doing their jobs. The staffing of ghosts must stop and we will not be afraid to fight it,” Igloo said in a televised statement.

The mayor of this city stressed the need to save the collective council from this phenomenon and noted: Rabat city council suffers from a deficit of about 198 million dirhams due to the accumulation of some court rulings.

In this regard, Yassini Saeed, a public finance expert, believes: “An employee is the ghost of any person who, due to frequent or definite absences, enjoys a normal administrative position and receives wages and benefits without performing any duties in return.” .

In an interview with Sky News Saudi, Saeed said that the number of “ghost workers” in municipalities has exceeded thousands, adding: “It is time to fight the phenomenon and put aside the name of anyone who proves to be a soul.” Employee.”
