Vucic: Not surprisingly the obstacles to Lavrov’s visit to Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the obstacles to the postponement of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s visit to Serbia were not surprising.

In a statement on Serbian Radio and Television, Vucic said, “I am not surprised that the visit was postponed. There were attempts to change the route when countries blocked the Russian Foreign Minister’s plane, the denial of attempts to block dialogue, and mainly about the environment around Sergey Lavrov’s visit to Belgrade.

Vucic described it as an “attack” on Serbia and said, “I have not seen such hysteria and an organized campaign of attack against a small country in a long time.”

He pointed out that on the eve of Lavrov’s visit, journalists of many Western media gathered in Belgrade to “present the Russian Foreign Minister’s visit to Serbia in an unfavorable manner”.

It is noteworthy that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s visit to Serbia was postponed after the European Union and NATO countries surrounding Serbia prevented the minister’s plane from entering their airspace.
