Israel fired missiles at positions south of the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Friday.

It is noteworthy that missile strikes often target locations on Syrian soil that are related to military activities or regime forces, and Israel is often accused of doing so.
While Tel Aviv usually refuses to comment, its officials have repeatedly stressed to previous governments that they will not allow Iran and its pro-government groups to infiltrate near the Syrian-Israeli border, which is a threat to Israel.
In recent years, since the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011, Israeli forces have carried out hundreds of attacks targeting several military bases on Syrian soil, most of which belonged to Hezbollah and Iranian groups.
