THE the war in Ukraine reached the 107th day and the Zelensky government is showing signs that the military resistance effort is facing increasing difficulties. That, at least, was the idea conveyed by a senior military intelligence official who implored the West to supply more weapons and ammunition.
This is one of the main main dishes of this Friday morning. Here’s a quick status.
- Ukraine is losing practically on all fronts to Russian forces and at the moment is practically out of ammunition and totally dependent on what the West can offer. The one who admits it is the deputy director of Ukraine’s military intelligence services, Vadym Skibisky, according to an exclusive report by the British Guardian.
- British Defense Military Intelligence notes that “Russia continues to control almost the entire city of Severodonetsk”, which remains a very active front. However, British Defense points out that “Russian forces have made little progress in their attempts to conquer the region around Severodonetsk, to the north and south”, which would amount to further encircling this city.
- The same services warn that the city of Mariupol is at risk of developing a major cholera outbreak, after several isolated cases of the disease have already been detected. “Medical services in Mariupol are probably already close to collapse at the moment” and “a major cholera outbreak would only exacerbate this scenario,” says British Defense.
- French President Emmanuel Macron has assured that the country is ready to deliver more heavy artillery to Ukraine, a guarantee given directly to President Volodymyr Zelensky, with whom he spoke by phone. Macron also stressed that France remains firmly on Ukraine’s side, an important statement given Macron’s recent controversial statement that he warned of the danger of humiliating Putin in this war.
- The five EU member states participating in the Joint Investigation Team into alleged war crimes in Ukraine already have “large amounts of evidence”, Eurojust said.
- In Portugal, the Judicial Police identified and arrested a 41-year-old foreign man, heavily accused of the practice, at the end of last month in Guarda, of a crime of sexual abuse of a 6-year-old boy, a refugee from the Ukraine “Los The events took place inside a Reception Center for Refugees and other foreign citizens, in the city of Guarda, where the perpetrator and victim resided at that time,” says the PJ.
