The conference of parliamentary leaders confirmed this Wednesday the appointment for the plenary session on Friday for an urgent debate, requested by Chega, on the situation of the gynecology and obstetrics services, with the presence of the Government.
At the same meeting, a mandatory agenda —mandatory— of the Liberal Initiative with the slogan “SOS SNS”, for June 30, and a PCP bill, for July 7, which expands the incentives for the establishment of health professionals.
The Chega parliamentary group announced this Saturday that it had asked the president of the Assembly of the Republic the appointment of an urgent debate on the situation of the gynecology and obstetrics servicesthat he considers an “installed chaos”.

At the end of the leadership conference, the president of the IL parliamentary caucus, Rodrigo Saraiva, reported on his party’s agendawhich he said was “announced 15 days ago and confirmed this Wednesday.”
“Regardless of the urgent debates, this agenda that IL has proposed will allow a true diagnosis to be made and that all parties can present solutions,” he defended, in statements to journalists.
The parliamentary leader of IL announced that the party will present five legislative initiatives in this debate that reflect what they want “the National Health System” to be and was open to other parties presenting “their points of view”.
“What we want is that the SNS can be saved,” he said.
By your side, PCP scheduled a bill for July 7 that aims to expand incentives to ensure retention of health professionals in the most disadvantaged geographical areas.
“The PCP proposal points to an increase in remuneration, length of service, the effects on access to retirement and creates new support to guarantee access to housing,” explained the communist deputy Bruno Dias, considering that the diploma brings “a solution to face serious problems that the country has been going through.”
The lack of doctors in several hospitals in the country has caused in recent days the closure of obstetric emergencies, or requests to the urgent patient guidance centers (CODU) to refer users to other hospitals.

On Monday, the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, announced that between June and September “a contingency plan” will be launched to try to solve the lack of doctors in hospital emergencies in the country.
On Friday, due to the scheduling of the urgent debate requested by Chega -in which the government must be represented by a member-, the plenary session will begin at 09:30, half an hour earlier than usual.
