Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stressed that “Iran has the will to expand relations with neighboring and friendly countries, including the Republic of Armenia.”

During a meeting with Armenian Parliament Speaker Allen Simonyan, he mentioned “appropriate energies and opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation in various areas, including transport, energy, industry, engineering and agricultural services.” stressing that “the existing parliamentary cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan is in line with efforts to expand relations.

Raisi called for “strengthening the role of the Joint Economic Cooperation Committee and raising the level of Iranian-Armenian cooperation by taking practical steps in this context”, noting that “Iran has remarkable geopolitical elements that will serve regional coordination and promote peace and prosperity.” -existence for the peoples of the region, starting from the Indian Ocean and through the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea up to Europe.

He stressed that “the policy of the Islamic Republic is based on respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries”, noting that “Iran supports all initiatives that take place in the context of cooperation and dialogue to promote peace and stability with the participation of the countries of the region.” He expressed his conviction that “dialogue between the countries of the region is the only way to resolve current issues, and the intervention of foreigners will not reform anything, but will only complicate matters within the region.”
