The Afghan National Liberation Front claimed responsibility for the attack that killed the commander of the 111th Taliban brigade, Maulvi Imran, along with two of his bodyguards in the Buthak district of the capital Kabul.

In her statement, she stated that “Mavlawi Imran, commander of the 111th Taliban brigade, was killed along with two of his bodyguards in an attack by National Liberation Front special forces in Butahak. Kabul area around 6:00 am” given that the operation to eliminate Imran was carried out “in order to punish him for his actions”. “He and his guards were punished for their actions,” he said, noting that Maulvi Imran was one of the “infamous” leaders of the Taliban “terrorist” movement.

The Front felt that “improper behavior and brutality on the part of members of the movement” led to harassment of the inhabitants of the area and put them in a dead end, stressing that members of the Taliban movement will not hide in any part of Afghanistan from the attack of the militants of the “National Front for the Liberation of Afghanistan”.
