The Public Security Police (PSP) arrested two men, one at the Madeira airport and the other at the Porto Santo airport, for trying to board in possession of prohibited weapons, it was announced on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Madeira Regional Command of the PSP explains that the men, aged 23 and 57, were intercepted at the control of passengers and hand luggage, “Card-sharp” (hidden card-shaped knives) were detected, which are considered prohibited weapons by current legislation.
The PSP clarifies that the arrests took place on Monday, the day Two other men, aged 59 and 27, were also arrested.one for possession and cultivation of a narcotic product (liamba), in the city of Machico (eastern Madeira), and another for vehicle theft in the city of Santana (north coast).
The Regional Command adds that, cumulatively, several inspection operations were carried out between June 20 and 21, which resulted in two arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, one for driving without a legal license and three for disobedience.
