US Deputy Ambassador to the UN Richard Mills said that the US is ready to return to the nuclear agreement in full.

Mills indicated at the Security Council meeting that “Iran has so far shown no desire for an agreement,” pointing to “Washington’s concern about steps taken by Tehran that undermine the monitoring of the International Agency.”

In his speech, the US official indicated that Tehran had removed cameras and surveillance equipment related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action related to the nuclear agreement, explaining that “such steps make it difficult for a mutual return to the full implementation of the nuclear agreement.” .”

In this context, Mills pointed to Washington’s “disappointment” with Tehran’s recent stance during indirect meetings between the two sides in the Qatari capital Doha.

He added: “During the visit of European Union Foreign Minister Josep Borrell to Tehran last Saturday and in indirect discussions this week in Doha, Iran continued to make demands beyond the nuclear deal,” adding that “Iran has yet to demonstrate real determination to reach an agreement” that ended the current nuclear crisis and lifted sanctions.

In May 2018, Washington withdrew from an agreement signed in 2015 between Iran and the P5+1 group, which includes Russia, the UK, China, the US, France and Germany, and imposed a series of tough sanctions against Tehran against Tehran. to stifle the Iranian economy and limit Tehran’s regional influence.
