US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin describes the conflict unleashed by Russia as “the greatest threat to Europe since World War II.”
During a speech shared by the US Department of Defense at the twitterLloyd Austin says Putin’s “war of choice” threatens not only Ukraine’s sovereignty, but also transatlantic peace and security.

Lloyd Austin further criticized Russia’s “willful malice and unfounded aggression”. The Defense Secretary has no doubt that future generations will look back and be inspired by the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people and be moved by the way nations came together to condemn Russian aggression.
