Iranian activists have released images of what is believed to be an explosion inside the Parchin nuclear facility southeast of Tehran, where Iran is developing missile and drone technology.
The Parchin facility is involved in the research, development, and production of chemical weapons, laser technology for uranium enrichment, as well as high-explosive testing, as well as the manufacture of missiles and weapons.

According to the New York Times, three Iranians with knowledge of the attack and a US official targeted Iran’s Parchin military site in May, where Tehran is developing nuclear missile and drone technology.
According to Iranian sources, who were not authorized to speak publicly, the drones struck the highly sensitive compound 37 miles southeast of the capital.
Drones exploded in the building of the Ministry of Defense of Iran, and a young engineer working in this ministry was killed and another person was injured.
According to a senior intelligence official familiar with the operation, in early February, Israel attacked a facility near the city of Kermanshah with six drones containing explosives, which was the main factory for the production and storage of military drones in Iran. That Israeli attack destroyed dozens of Iranian drones.
In contrast, Iran responded by firing ballistic missiles at a residential complex in northern Iraq, which it said was being used by Israeli agents to plan attacks against Iran.
