Baghdad Governorate confirmed: “The reduction in working hours in the capital is a federal decision, while indicating that there is coordination with the Rusafa and Karh health departments regarding the escalation of injuries caused by the coronavirus.”
Assistant Governor of Baghdad for Health and Environment, Qais Obeid al-Kalabi, explained that “the issue of escalating corona infections is with the Ministry of Health, which is the concerned body and is responsible for all the provinces, including the capital Baghdad.”
Al-Kalabi added: “There is coordination between Baghdad governorate and Rusafa and Karh health departments, and the governorate has found that the health ministry is preparing the necessary and sufficient treatment and the availability of hospitals needed to incubate the infected. with a crown.”
With regards to making decisions related to the epidemiological situation of the coronavirus, such as reducing working hours, Al Qalabi explained: “There are many federal departments and ministries in Baghdad governorate and it is different from other governorates, so the decision to reduce working hours is out of the question. – due to injuries due to the coronavirus is the federal sovereign, and not the rest of the governorates.”
He pointed out that “Each province has a head of the security committee, and in Baghdad the governor is the head of the committee and is in charge of the governorates, and therefore, since the issue is related to the federal departments and ministries, it is assumed that there will be an agreement between the ministries and the governor if there is such a decision”, stressing that “nothing official about this has been made public yet”.
