The Kyrgyz presidency confirmed that “on July 20-21, the presidents of the five Central Asian countries will hold a consultative meeting in the city of Cholpon-Anna, located on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in the north-east of Kyrgyzstan.”

The head of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz President Muradbek Azimbakiev indicated that “the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadr Jabarov, Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jimart Tokayev, Uzbekistan, Shavgat Mirziyoyev, Tajikistan, Imam Ali Rahmon and Turkmenistan, Sardar Berdimuhamedov will take part. at the meeting”.

He explained that the leaders “will exchange views on strengthening interaction between the countries of Central Asia in a joint response to the challenges and threats to regional security, as well as discuss the prospects for expanding cooperation in order to ensure sustainable economic growth”, noting that “the issues of strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation are also on agenda.” He added that “it is planned to sign documents aimed at strengthening friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation between the countries of the region.”
