General Ron Kochavi, the spokesman of the Israeli army, said: “Aviv Kochavi, the chief of staff of the Israeli army, flew over Saudi Arabia three months ago.”
The statement came shortly after Saudi Arabia announced it would open its airspace to Israeli flights.
Earlier on Sunday, Israel’s LL Airlines submitted a formal request to Saudi Arabia for permission to fly over the country’s territory this week.
In an interview with i24news on Sunday, Kochawi mentioned Kochawi’s upcoming trip to Morocco and especially the first appearance of the Israeli army as an observer in the international military exercise “Lion of Africa” in Morocco.
He said: At the end of June, Israeli officers participated in an exercise in their military uniforms with the Israeli flag in Morocco, and now we are preparing for the visit of the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army. “Our defense relations and cooperation in the field of training and intelligence, all within the framework of the Ibrahim agreements and bilateral relations with Morocco.”
