“A scary incident”… the arrest of a Milan player with a gun (film)

In a terrifying incident, Italian police held Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko at gunpoint after mistaking him for someone else.

The clip, reposted on Twitter by Italian sports journalist Tancredi Palmieri, shows a policeman pinning Tiemoue Bakayoko to a police car and searching him, while a female policewoman points a gun at the occupants of the car. This player was pointing.

Another policeman approached his colleague who was checking the player and told him that the suspect was not the wanted person, but the AC Milan player.

The consternation was evident on the face of the policeman conducting the search as he said, “Who!”, before realizing his mistake and stopping the search and patting Bakayoko on the back.

Palmieri elaborated on the incident on Twitter, saying: “Horrible video of Bakayoko in Milan city center, with a gun by the police, after I thought it was someone else.

He added: “They watched when one of the policemen goes to his colleague who is looking at him (the player), he is not a suspect, but a Milan player and the policeman says (who?!).

Bakayoko, 27, joined Chelsea in a blockbuster deal in 2017, joining Stamford Bridge from Monaco for £40m.

Despite spending 5 years at the club, the transfer did not work out. He made 43 appearances in all competitions in his first season but has not played for Chelsea since the 2017-2018 season.

Since then, he has spent time on loan at AC Milan, Monaco and Naples before returning to AC Milan, where he won the Serie A title last season.

And on Sunday, French magazine Foot Mercato reported that Bakayoko would finally leave Marseille, in the French first division, after agreeing terms.
