The Prime Minister of Italy, Mario Draghi, I should even quit, leading Italy to early elections, after a very tense afternoon of debate and voting in the Italian Senate that culminated in the shaky approval, by a minority of parliamentarians, of a vote of confidence in the leader of the coalition government. The main parties that supported Draghi’s coalition – the League, the 5 Star Movement and Forza Italia – did not participate in the vote, and although the formal result of the vote was the approval of the vote of confidence, the political crisis in Italy did not rather than go deeper. it went deeper. The confidence motion received only 95 votes in favor and 38 against, in a Senate made up of 321 members. (and of which only 192 were present at the time of the vote).
At the end of the vote, Mario Draghi left the Senate and is expected to meet with Italian President Sergio Mattarella on Thursday to present his resignation again, according to the Italian press. Newspapers in Italy are even advancing possible dates for the elections: October 2 or 9.
