A foreign citizen was detained by the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF), at the Lisbon airport, for indications of 10 crimes of aid to illegal immigration and use of a forged document.
According to a statement from the SEF that day, the man was detected facilitating the entry into national territory of 10 foreign citizens of the African continent”for the alleged payment of a large sum of money, using fraudulent documentation and using a fictitious story to mislead border authorities.”
The man, arrested last weekend, after being heard by the judicial authorities, ended up in preventive detention.
“During the criminal proceedings, the SEF also seized various documentation related to the practice of the crime,” the statement added.
