Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki noted that the war in Ukraine “revealed the truth about Europe, which refused to listen to the voice of truth emanating from Poland about the imperial ambitions of Russian President Vladimir Putin”, noting that it “reflects a broader problem that the European Union is facing today.”

In a press article, he emphasized that “within a federation, equality between states is of a verbal nature, and political practice shows that the votes of Germany and France are of great importance”, emphasizing that “we are therefore dealing with a formal democracy and an oligarchy in which the real power is stronger.”

Morawiecki said that it is “increasingly difficult for the European Union to uphold the freedom and equality of all member states, and we also increasingly hear that the future of the entire group should no longer be decided by consensus, but by majority”.
