Iraqi President Barham Salih emphasized the need to develop a roadmap for clear decisions that preserve the interests of the country and citizens, stressing that “maintenance of the status quo is unacceptable.”

Saleh pointed to “the need to build on dialogue and rapprochement to quickly resolve the current political crisis”, highlighting the need to “focus the dialogue on the priority of ensuring the rights of citizens to a free and decent life, the transition to the political, to carry out reforms and protect civil peace, and to establish a clear roadmap and decisions that protect the highest national interests.” It reassures citizens and meets their needs.”

He believed that “maintenance of the status quo is unacceptable and setbacks must be overcome and the will of the people and democracy must be respected”, noting that “respect for the will of the Iraqis is the basis for getting out of the crisis and overcoming the political blockage.”

He also emphasized “the importance of the role of trade unions, federations, public and civil activity in this aspect, especially in the current crisis”, pointing to “the importance of ensuring the rights of citizens, the security and stability of the country, moving towards a peaceful and calm path to overcome existing challenges.”
