Apple has announced that it has discovered serious security flaws in iPhones, iPads and MacBooks that could allow attackers to gain complete control of these devices.
Apple added that it is “aware of a report that this may have been actively exploited.”
The US company said in a security update on its support page that one of the flaws means a malicious program “may be able to execute arbitrary code” and allow full access to the device.
Cybersecurity experts advised users to immediately update affected devices, namely iPhone 6s and newer models, recent iPads, and computers running Monterey.
This vulnerability may also affect some iPod models.
The warning comes to Apple device users ahead of next September’s scheduled launch of the company’s newest phones, which are expected to be called the iPhone 14.
