“The Iranian army is planning to conduct a large-scale exercise involving more than 150 advanced drones on August 24,” Iranian news agency Tasnim reported, citing Iranian army deputy commander Habibullah Sayyari.
Sayyari indicated that “forces from four parts of the army, namely the ground forces, the navy, the air force and the air defense forces, will take part in the military maneuver.”
He pointed out that “more than 150 new advanced drones manufactured by the army and the Ministry of Defense together with local science-intensive companies will be transferred to the upcoming exercises.” According to Sayyari, “the exercises will cover all areas throughout Iran, from the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman to the northern regions.”
“The accuracy of the weapon, its destructive power, flight range, combat capabilities of drones, as well as the performance of control systems will be tested during the exercises, during which drones will conduct reconnaissance, combat operations and various types of patrols,” Sayari said. .
