Bloomberg reported that a California court, in a preliminary ruling, accepted a lawsuit filed by the state Department of Fair Employment against Tesla over possible racist behavior at one of its factories.
In this regard, it was noted that “the lawsuit alleged that Tesla’s Fremont manufacturing site is an ‘apartheid workplace’ and reported that a court hearing would take place on Wednesday.”
The agency indicated that “the ministry concerned, during a three-year investigation, found evidence of racist violations and pay discrimination, and the lawsuit was filed in February of this year.”
Notably, in October 2021, Tesla lost a lawsuit against a former elevator worker who accused the company of racism and had to pay her $137 million in damages. Tesla was founded by American businessman Elon Musk in 2003. At first, the company specialized exclusively in the production of electric vehicles, but later it also began to produce solar panels and other energy storage systems.
