North Korea’s central news agency attributed an outbreak of suspected cases of fever in the northeastern province of Ryangjang earlier this week to influenza. Earlier in North Korea, it was reported that on Tuesday, 4 cases of suspicion of a “virulent epidemic” were detected in the Ryangan province bordering China.

“According to information received from the State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters, all cases of fever that occurred in Ryangan were cases of influenza,” she said. Health authorities have urged citizens to wear masks and report to the competent authorities while remaining in their seats if they show symptoms of a fever.

And the Central News Agency confirmed: “The temperature of patients with fever has returned to normal levels, and the closure of the area has been lifted.” It is noteworthy that on August 10, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un declared victory over the “corona” and ordered the authorities to cancel the “extreme emergency measures to combat the virus” in the country.
