Austrian Defense Minister Claudia Tanner stated that “Austria has ‘many open questions’ on the task of training the Ukrainian army regarding the legal basis and content of the training task.”

Upon arriving at an informal meeting of European Union defense ministers in Prague, she noted that “the 17 training missions organized by the European Union so far have been carried out outside the European Union, and the possibility of establishing a special European Union Mission to train European Union soldiers.” The Armed Forces of Ukraine have faced a number of difficulties, as it is not yet clear, in particular, whether this mission will be able to function at all.

Earlier it became known that the European Union could start a mission to train the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the beginning of winter. Additional military assistance to Ukraine, as well as the creation of a high-level mission to train the Ukrainian army.
