Today, Saturday, a Turkish destroyer docked in Haifa port in the framework of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) reconnaissance mission in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Turkish F-247 destroyer called “TCG Kemalreis” along with the American missile carrier “DDG-98” named “USS Forrest Sherman” entered the port of Haifa.
The purpose of her arrival is NATO training, where the ship will dock in port for a visit lasting several days, refuel and just “show presence”.
The spokesman of the Israeli army said earlier that “the NATO special force consists of an American ship and a Turkish ship anchored in the port of Haifa.”
A senior military official stated: This anchorage is part of Israel’s cooperation and support with NATO, and no activities were planned between the Israeli army and the Turkish ship, its crew or commanders, including receptions, exercises or meetings.
The Turkish Navy’s sailing vessel עגן במקובר בנמל האיפה is apparently part of the patrol mission in the area of the Natab Force.
