Kanye West Says He’s Never Read a Book: ‘It’s Like Eating Brussels Sprouts’

As is his prerogative, rapper Kanye West shared another unusual revelation with fans: he doesn’t like books and has never read them. In an interview with the podcast “Alo Mind Full”, created by Alo Yoga, the musician confessed that, for him, “reading is like eating Brussels sprouts”.

The conversation led by host Alyson Wilson and Alo Yoga co-founder Danny Harris was shared with netizens on Friday, September 16. In it he promised West “paints a sonic picture of what’s on the mind”. So it was. Harris began by saying that he had read a book more than 100 times. “Kanye was telling me that he had never read it, and I explained that he naturally embodies all the traits that the book talks about. This is extraordinary, to have all this confidence,” said the presenter.

In fact, I haven’t read that book, or any book. For me, reading is like eating Brussels sprouts”, reveals the musician, and continues that, “on the other hand, talking is like going to Giorgio Baldi [restaurante em Los Angeles] eat the corn ravioli”.

This confession comes after a Rolling Stones report claims that Kanye West is signing confidentiality agreements with parents who want to enroll their children in his private Christian school, Donda Academy, because it is not properly licensed. The name of the school comes in honor of the singer’s mother, who died in 2007, and who was an English professor at the University of Chicago.

The controversial statements did not end there and, still in the episode, the owner of Yeezy called himself “Black Brad Pitt” and “Black DiCaprio” and also said that he wants to ban the stairs and replace them with ramps. “Everything should be designed like a nursing home, because if we’re lucky, we’ll all be elderly one day.”

Still, Kanye shared some life lessons with Danny Harris. “There are two types of people: those who think they can do things and those who think they can’t. And both are right.
