Typhoon Nanmadol hit southwestern Japan on Monday with heavy rain and winds that killed at least two people, according to the Japan Times.
More than 60 people are injured, while tens of thousands have sought refuge in shelters since Sunday.
High-speed trains, airlines and delivery services suspended operations and convenience store chains were temporarily closed in southwestern Japan, while some highways were closed.
Nanmadol is expected to head towards Japan’s main island, Honshuunleashing heavy rain over the region that includes the cities of Osaka and Kyoto, before reaching, predictably, the capital, tokyoOn tuesday.
