Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that “what the Ukrainian army and nationalist groups did in Donbas is being ignored.”
He pointed out during a speech to the UN Security Council in New York that the Ukrainian authorities “claim that they abide by the Minsk agreements, while they undermine them”, adding that “Germany, France and America turn a blind eye to the fact that takes place in the Donbas.
Lavrov stated that “the Kyiv regime owes its impunity to its Western allies”, stressing that “Ukraine excluded the Russian language from the school curriculum in a practice similar to what the Nazis did”, and stressed that “Kyiv worked to impose the Ukrainian language on the indigenous population and ban the language. He also saw that “Ukrainians seek to destroy Russia, and the West, which fuels the conflict, is leaving with impunity, and Ukraine is using civilians as human shields.”
He believed that “we have no doubt that Ukraine has become the same authoritarian state as Nazism, where the norms of international law are violated”, noting that “the countries supplying weapons are clearly trying to drag out hostilities for as long as possible, despite for casualties and destruction.” He pointed out that “providing weapons to Ukraine means the direct participation of the West in the conflict”, calling on UN Secretary-General António Guterres “to demand from Ukraine the disclosure of the identity of the bodies found in Bucha, and this is important in order to find out what happened.”
Lavrov noted that “the summit of the event was a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on August 5 last year, who advised everyone who feels Russian to return to Russia for the sake of their children and grandchildren”, noting that “it seems to me that the decisions taken the population of a number of regions of Ukraine at the present time to hold referendums are in response to his desire.
