Six ministers of the current Mozambican government were elected from among the new members of the Central Committee of the Front for the Liberation of Mozambique (Frelimo), the ruling party announced on Tuesday.
Among the new members, elected this Monday, during the fourth day of the XII Congress of the party, stand out Adriano Maleiane (Prime Minister), Max Tonnela (Economy and Finance), helena kida (Justice), Ana Koana (State Administration and Public Function) Josephine Mpelo (combatants) and Eldevina Materula (Culture and Tourism).
Among the new members is hyacinth nyusieldest son of the current head of state, N’aite Chissanoson of the former President of the Republic Joaquim Chisanogood as Alberto Chipande Juniorson of the former Minister of Defense and historical member of Frelimo Alberto Chipande.

In this congress the new disposition of the organism entered into force, which grew from 230 to 250 militants and determines that 60% transfers from the previous term and 40% enters the organization for the first time.
During the main meeting, 81 members were elected, most of whom had already been elected before the congress took place, during the provincial conferences held earlier this month.
This Tuesday, the XII Frelimo Congress will elect the general secretary, the Political Commission and the Verification Committee, which is the party’s disciplinary body, and will review the organization’s statutes.
After the congress, the election of the candidate for the 2024 presidential elections will go through the new bodies.
