The Anti-Terrorist Service in Kurdistan in northern Iraq announced that the death toll from the Iranian bombing of the southern city of Sulaymaniyah had risen to 13, with another 58 injured, and the Iraqi Foreign Ministry confirmed that it would hand over a note of protest to the Iranian Ambassador in Baghdad amid the bombing.
The Iraqi apparatus said in a statement that “the Iranian Revolution Guards launched a series of attacks in four phases on Wednesday at 10:15 a.m., during which it used ballistic missiles and decoy drones to hit several headquarters.”
The statement said that “more than 70 ballistic missiles (Fateh) and decoy drones were launched from Iranian territory in 4 stages.”
At the first stage, only ballistic missiles were used, at the second – ballistic missiles and decoy drones, at the third – ballistic missiles supported by reconnaissance aircraft, at the fourth – only ballistic missiles.
He indicated that the target headquarters included “Kurdistan Freedom Party, Kurdistan Democratic Party-Iran Headquarters in Koysancak, Iranian Kurdistan Workers’ Group Headquarters in Sulaymaniyah, Iranian Kurdish Residential Camp in Zarkweitz, Zarkweitz and Bankura Districts in Sulaymaniyah and camps Azadi, Kala (Kila) and Amiriya in Koysanjak.
He added that “public places such as kindergartens, schools, medical centers, hospitals, event halls, service vehicles and residential buildings” were also shelled.
