The first Russian reservists mobilized by order of President Vladimir Putin arrived in the recently annexed Lugansk region on Monday to protect the territory, mostly dominated by Moscow.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced on the Telegram social network that Luhansk residents took to the streets to welcome these mobilized reservistswho were trained by the Russian army.
Previously, the Ministry had reported that the people mobilized by the Kremlin, after completing the period of instruction and combat training, would begin one of their main missions: control the territories of eastern Ukraine seized by Moscow.
On September 21, Putin signed a decree authorizing a “partial mobilization” in Russia and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that this mobilization could reach up to 300,000 people.
