Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, during a telephone conversation with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov, noted that “the government has demonstrated full cooperation and high flexibility with the proposals of the Special Envoy of the Secretary General United Nations and support for his efforts to achieve security and stability in Yemen.

Awad bin Mubarak pointed out that “the Houthis deliberately obstructed all efforts to move towards a comprehensive political process in accordance with the three references, citing the Gulf Initiative, the outcome of the dialogue conference and the relevant UN resolutions, most notably Resolution 2216.”

He cited the “irrational desire of the Houthis to return to war and the threat of attacks on companies operating in the oil field in Yemen and the region, as well as the threat to international shipping in the Red Sea”, stressing the “importance of the UN Security Council”. The council takes a strong political stance against the Houthis’ negative stance.”
