On Sunday, Twitter users posted US President Joe Biden’s tweet about US fuel prices.
Biden’s tweet pointed out that this is less than what the average consumer sees at gas stations.
“Currently the most popular price at gas stations across the country is $3.19 per gallon… This is progress,” Biden said in a tweet.
Currently, the most common price at gas stations nationwide is $3.19 per gallon. This is progress.

And the price Biden mentioned in his tweet is irrelevant, because the average price per gallon (one gallon equals 3.78 liters) was $3.8 on November 6, 2022.
This is at least the second time a tweet has been reported since Elon Musk took over more than a week ago.
Last week, the White House deleted a tweet attributed to Biden about an increase in Social Security checks for seniors, with many observers suggesting the increase was the result of rising inflation, one of the largest struggle of his administration this year.
Twitter later added context under the tweet, noting that the increase was due to annual cost-of-living adjustments as part of a 1972 law that linked automatic benefit adjustments to the Consumer Price Index, a main indicator of inflation.
