At the end of December, the Wagner group already occupied a considerable part of the eastern Bakhmut region and it is precisely in this area that a champagne-producing company is located, which is now under the control of Russian mercenaries. Two months later, Yevgeny Prigojin, founder of the Wagner group, announced through his Telegram account that “a truckload of champagne”, produced in Bakhmut, was sent to Ukrainian women.
According to the Telegraph, the truckload of champagne bottles was sent to mark International Women’s Day, but it is not entirely clear if the truck left the city of Bakhmut.
After all, what is happening in Bakhmut? The ruined city Ukraine turned into a new Azovstal to exhaust the Russians
In the shared video, Yevgeny Prigojin can be seen writing a message on one of the boxes containing bottles that will be sent “as a gift” to Ukrainian women, also wishing them a “happy March 8.” “Yevgeny Prigojin sent a truckload of champagne from a sparkling wine factory located near Bakhmut to Ukrainian women on March 8,” the caption accompanying the Telegram post reads.
Bakhmut, in the Donetsk region, has turned into a city in ruins. And, at this moment, there is a dead end: the city will fall, but it is not certain if it will be on the Ukrainian side or on the Russian side. There are, therefore, two possibilities: either Moscow approaches the two routes that allow Bakhmut to enter and exit, and that is where the Ukrainian troops are, or the Kiev military has enough strength to get the Russians out of that territory. .
